Report: Japan’s Mitsui mulls $100 mln invest in Russia’s R-Pharm
TOKYO, Oct 24 (PRIME) -- Japanese trader Mitsui is considering investing U.S. $96.3 million in Russian pharmaceutical company R-Pharm and buying an about 10% stake in the company, newswire Nikkei reported on Monday citing sources.
“Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is seeking to deepen ties with Moscow. Mitsui's R-Pharm deal could be positioned as part of economic cooperation between Japan and Russia,” the newswire reported.
The company is expected to flesh out details of the possible investment by April 2017.
